• Strategic Partnerships: India has developed important ties with Israel, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iran, requiring careful strategic balancing.

• Expand Defence Partnerships: Build training, military exercises and defence-technology cooperation with a wider range of West Asian countries.
• Deepen Connectivity: Protect and operationalise strategic interests linked to Chabahar and wider connectivity with Central Asia.
• Institutionalise West Asia Policy: Consider a dedicated Special Envoy for West Asia to coordinate India’s political, security, economic and diaspora interests.

Way Forward

• Active Diplomacy: Re-engage Saudi Arabia, Iran, UAE and Türkiye through sustained political dialogue.
• Bridge-Building: Facilitate Arab–Iran confidence-building and contribute to regional trust-building.
