BPSC Maximum Age Limit 2026 (Category-Wise)

The BPSC maximum age limit 2026 depends on the category and gender of the candidate. The upper age limit for different categories is explained below.

1. BPSC Age Limit for General Category

For candidates belonging to the General/Unreserved category, the BPSC age limit for male candidates is 37 years, while the BPSC age limit for female candidates under the General category is 40 years.

2. BPSC Age Limit for OBC

Candidates from the BC and EBC categories (commonly referred to as OBC) get an upper age limit of 40 years, applicable to both male and female candidates.

3. BPSC Age Limit for SC ST

The BPSC age limit for SC ST candidates, both male and female, is set at 42 years.

4. BPSC Age Limit for EWS

Candidates applying under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category follow the same upper age limit as applicable to their gender under the General category, since EWS does not have a separate age relaxation slab of its own.

5. BPSC Age Limit for PwBD

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are eligible for additional age relaxation over and above the applicable upper age limit (up to 47 years) for their respective category, as per the rules of the Bihar Government.

BPSC Age Relaxation 2026

Apart from category-based relaxation, BPSC age relaxation 2026 is also extended to certain other groups as per Bihar Government rules, including:

  • Government servants with continuous service
  • Ex-servicemen
