    • FIFA World Cup 2026Expanded Tournament Format: The competition will feature 104 matches, with 32 teams advancing to the knockout stage.
    • AI-Enabled Match Ball: The Adidas Trionda match ball incorporates advanced connected-ball technology.
      • A 500 Hz motion sensor records ball movements and transmits data instantly to stadium systems.
      • It transmits real-time spatial tracking data to assist referees and VAR officials in offside and foul decisions.
  • Opening and Final Matches: The opening match will be played in Mexico City, while the final will take place in New York/New Jersey.
