About Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT)

• Establishment:  In December 1960, under clause (4) of Article 344 of the Constitution of India.
• Objective:  To evolve and define scientific and technical terms in Hindi and all Indian languages. 
• Under Aegis Of: Ministry of Education
• Headquarters: New Delhi.
• Primary Function:  Evolve standard terminology, propagate its use and distribute it widely.
• Various Key Initiatives: 
  • To Promote Technical Education are All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), 
  • Prime Minister Research Fellowship (PMRF), 
  • Impacting Research Innovation and Technology (IMPRINT)
  • Scheme for Trans-Disciplinary Research for India’s Developing Economy (STRIDE)
  • Scheme for Transformational and Advanced Research in Sciences (STARS)
