Ukraine’s FPV Drone Strike on Russia

Recently, Ukraine launched a major FPV  drone attack on Russia, destroying over 40 aircraft. This was one of the deepest strikes inside Russia since the war began in February 2022.

What Are FPV Drones?

• FPV (First-Person View) drones are remotely operated drones that allow the pilot to see what the drone sees in real time via a front-mounted camera. 
• This video feed is transmitted to the operator’s screen or goggles, enabling highly precise control.

Features of First-Person View Drones

• Real-Time Camera View: Equipped with a camera that transmits live video to the operator.
• Short Range: Typically has a smaller range of a few kilometres because they rely on radio signals. 
• Low cost: FPV drones are cheap and effective, costing around $500 (approx. ₹42,000) with explosive payloads.
