About Unified Health Interface (UHI)

• The Unified Health Interface (UHI) is an open, interoperable digital network that enables citizens and healthcare providers to connect seamlessly across multiple digital health platforms.
• Nodal Body: UHI has been developed under the ABDM and is implemented by the National Health Authority (NHA), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
• Objective: To provide citizens with seamless access to verified healthcare services while promoting interoperability, transparency and platform neutrality in India’s digital health ecosystem.
• Key Features
• • Interoperable Digital Network: UHI allows patients and healthcare providers to interact across different UHI-enabled applications without requiring both users to be on the same platform.
  • Open Protocol Architecture: The platform operates through open technical standards, enabling developers to build health applications in multiple languages and across different devices.
  • Verified Healthcare Ecosystem: Only healthcare professionals and facilities verified through the Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR) and Health Facility Registry (HFR) can participate on the network.
  • ABDM Integration: UHI uses ABHA as the unique health identifier and integrates with the Health Information Exchange (HIE) for consent-based sharing of digital health records.
